Location

Blackwell Grange, Darlington, DL3 8QH

The Blackwell Grange Hotel nestles between the North Yorkshire Moors and the beautiful City of Durham in a county full of mystic legend.

The hotel is just a short walk from the thriving market town of Darlington - with its quaint alleyways, ancient market-place and historic buildings.

To the north of the hotel is Durham, with its spectacular cathedral and castle, whilst south takes you through James Herriot country - rolling hills and meandering rivers - to Richmond, historic York and the spa towns of Ripon and Harrogate.

The Blackwell Grange is ideal for business or a relaxing break.

With this area being steeped in so much history there is just so much to see and do. Visit the magnificent castles around the county of Durham, built by the medieval Prince Bishops. Or wander around the Bowes Museum at Barnard Castle, which is astunning French-inspired chateau with impressive paintings, artistic treasures and beautiful gardens.

Beamish Museum shows early 20th century life vividly reconstructed, giving you the chance to experience the life and times of an era gone by.

Just a short drive away to the south is England's Eternal City of York, its history living in its streets, museums and buildings. Whilst sightseeing you can relax over lunch or a drink in the many cafes, bars and restaurants.

To the north, there is the fantastic Metro Shopping Centre - simply you can shop from morning 'til afternoon and still have more to buy!
